Missouri - Day 1

 We headed down to Missouri last week.

 
We made a quick stop at a park in Springfield to stretch our legs.

We arrived Thursday evening and went to our VRBO rental.

Friday we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for breakfast. Then we headed to Saint Francois State Park for a short hike and river fun.

Then it was back to G&G's place where Grandpa very patiently taught the boys how to fish. :) They had a blast!

First Holy Communion

 Jacob and Timmy received their First Holy Communion on Sunday, April 14,
at St. Mary's in Fennimore.
After Mass there was a potluck and cake in the church hall, then we headed back home to celebrate with family. It was a perfect day!

Heaven

David asked if we could hold something (I can't remember what) after we died and went up into Heaven. Mike quickly said "no, we can't hold anything in Heaven because we have to have our arms like this":

I showed a deer track to Dave and asked if he knew what kind of animal made the print.

Mike: "Mom, come quick! Tim found a REAL racoon feather!"

Mike: "Underneath my hair I have a bald head."

Dave was sick so we had a special sippy cup for his water. Jacob then tells me "I accidentally took a drink from Dave's water." I said "oh no!", to which he responded "It's ok, I washed it off first."

Timmy: "I have a hole in my pants."

Mike (very excited): "Oh! That's ok!! Then you can scratch in it!"

Mike: "Your forehead is all shiny and you look like a mushroom up on top your head."

Mike: "If it gets hot today, can we go swimming?" (January)

"What's your favorite color?"

Dave: "Yellow"

"Why is that your favorite?"

Dave: "Because it's perfect!"

Timmy: "I don't like fish."

Jacob: "Yes you do! You eat it all the time! You love chicken and chicken is made out of fish."

Mike: "We were just hunting for cheetahs and rattlesnakes. Nothing else."

We were all outside and Dave went in for a few minutes. When he came back, I asked him what he was doing inside.

"I was not eating anyone's candy."

Misc

 

These are in reverse order, but oh well.

It's been so nice and warm lately we've been able to go hiking a few times.

I was surprised that the lake at Governor Dodge was still mostly frozen.

All 4 of the boys wanted to sleep by the tree the night before we took it down (Feb 2).

We celebrated Timmy's feast day by eating at Cimino's Pizza.
