Several months ago Dominic had the idea of turning our storage area in the basement into a chapel. On St. Patrick's Day, we started emptying out the boxes and bins and getting the project underway...
A wall went up which will separate the chapel from the future laundry room
Drywall going up
Windows :)
painting the trim
Testing out the size of the pews (that we bought from an old church and cut down from 9' lengths)
spraying texture
Putting up the wallpaper ceiling (that Dominic found on e-bay). It came in 3 panels and we are very grateful for the help we had with it. :)
The pews needed to be completely taken apart and sanded (which took forever!) and then reassembled, stained, and varnished. It was a long process.
The stained glass window clings (that took almost 3 months to arrive from China)
The boys were big helpers throughout the project :)
the old kneelers

Planning and designing the altar (on our guest bed)
The un-assembled altar :)
The altar was the last piece and that was just installed yesterday.
We modified the altar slightly by removing the drawer and turning that into a shadow-box reliquary.
