School

 We started school this week!

I had been planning on working with Jacob and just teaching him how to read, but since Timmy has to do everything that Jacob does, he's doing it with us. I'm not sure how long this will last, but we'll give it a shot! Here are pictures from our first day (which lasted about 10 minutes).

When Dad came home, Jacob told him that Timmy knows how to read already. Timmy modestly corrected that notion and said that he "almost" knows how to read, and that he'll need "4 more days" until he can do it. 😂 (if only it were that easy!)

(They look so studious here! I should congratulate myself for being able to get pictures when they were jumping all over the place.) ;-)

Quotable Quotes

Timmy: "My arm is all wrinkled up!"
"Your arm is all wrinkled up?"
"Yeah"
"What does that mean?"
"I don't know!"

Jacob: "Here's a present I got you from the Dollar Store."
"You got that from the Dollar Store?"
Jacob: "Yeah! It was on sale so I grabbed it."

Timmy: "Hey, Dad! I'm almost as tall as Davey!"

Jacob, half-crying: "There's something in my shoe. It feels like a hair. <pause> I think it's a mouse hair."

We put a hat on Timmy and it covered his eyes.
Timmy: "Hey, you turned off my eyes!"

Jacob: "It's so cold out, I had to close my ears!"

Timmy: "I don't like logic. It's disgusting."

Mike: "Oooh! Pretty moon!! Gotta tell Grandma 'bout that!"

Timmy: "I just saw a waterfall."
"You did? Where?"
Timmy: "It wasn't running, though."

Snow

The boys have been having a blast playing out in the snow, despite the cold temps.

Merry Christmas!

These pictures are all out of order, but here are the boys on Christmas Day, decked out in their finest. :)

We got a surprise calf a few days before Christmas! We named him Mistletoe.

We got our Christmas tree from the pasture this year.
Cut it on the 21st, put lights up on the 22nd, and ornaments on the 23rd. Everything seems to take longer these days... :)

The kids put nearly all the ornaments on the tree by themselves.
(one branch had 5 ornaments all in the same spot) 😂

We were gone all day on the 24th and 25th, so we opened gifts on the 26th after Mass and naps.
We started by singing Happy Birthday to baby Jesus, followed by their favorite Christmas song:
Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

Nothing much

Jake and Tim were hiding inside this box, waiting for Dad to come home and find them.

We had a beautiful day recently and were able to get out for a nice walk and campfire.
