We got the text from Timmy's birth mom at 3am last Friday. We hopped in the car and were in Des Moines by 8am. Since she was waiting to go to the hospital, we went around to a couple parks to kill some time. Both parks had a splash area so Jacob was able to play in the water (which he wasn't too thrilled about). :)
One of the parks had a carousel that he was fascinated by. He kept asking to ride it and would get super excited - until he got on. Then he acted bored with it. Until he got off, then he wanted back on. (of course) :)
When we got the second call that she was heading to the hospital, we went right there. It was several hours later before Timmy was born, so we hung out in the waiting area and drank caffeine.
Jacob was a trooper through it all! :)
